Kenneth Carbone
Piermont, NY
Kenneth Carbone’s artistic foundation is rooted in drawing, utilizing a diverse range of media including graphite, charcoal, pastel, ink, watercolor, acrylic, and oil. His explorations of the human form and nature begin with deep observation, resulting in images that verge on abstraction. Kenneth earned his BFA from the Philadelphia College of Art. For over 40 years, he served as the creative director at the Carbone Smolan Agency in New York and was honored with the American Institute of Graphic Arts’ Lifetime Achievement Award. He has taught at the School of Visual Arts in New York and lectured at Yale University, Carnegie Mellon, the Rhode Island School of Design, and RIT. Additionally, he writes for—and has been published in—various publications and has been a TEDx speaker.
“The influence of nature on humanity cannot be overstated. As much as modernity and our built environment try to suppress this reality, nature remains in control.”
