In her highly personal approach to art collecting, Edith Faulkner Graves introduces collectors to artists - in person or virtually, in homes or an artist’s studio.

“It brings me pleasure to introduce art enthusiasts to this assembly of nationally-recognized artists. Sharing artists’ work this way is a gift to everyone involved.”

Testimonials & News

"Several of my favorite pieces of art are from artists I know. They are special because they not only represent growth and progression as artists, but also an extension of a long time friendship. That's a beautiful combination."

BE

"In an era where the web and media are most of what we see, it is important to be surrounded by personal connections. Art by an artist who you know represents such a connection and it adds to your history and the story can be passed down to the next generation."

CSO

"I love telling the story behind the piece we purchased from an artist at their open studio. It stands out in a palpable way in our home and I know no one else can 'own' that same experience."

AH

"When you purchase a piece of work directly from an artist, it's as if they have entrusted you with it, and you feel the weight and honor of ownership. Interestingly, people who visit our home seem to pick up on the unique richness of the piece—even if they don't know the story behind it."

About

Edith Graves, Art Advisor, connects people seeking art with a collection of contemporary artists whose work spans a variety of media and styles.  To every client interaction, Edith brings a lifelong immersion in the art world, personal relationships with the artists she represents and a sophisticated grasp of their work.  She is a matchmaker who thrives on finding the perfect fit between collector and artist.  She personalizes the selection process by introducing her clients to the artists themselves.

Edith will listen as you describe your interests and taste, and suggest artists whose work might appeal to you and enhance the space at hand.  Edith offers options across a range of prices.

When you have narrowed your focus, Edith can visit your home and introduce you to the artist, either in person or virtually.  Meeting them - in some cases visiting their studio - can provide scale and a human context for the piece of work you are considering.

Edith can coordinate and oversee framing, shipping, and installation if required.

Meet Edith

Edith Faulkner Graves grew up in homes designed by her architect father and interior designer mother in Washington, DC.  Surrounded by works of modern art, Edith absorbed her parents' aesthetic and came to know artists who were family friends.

In her role as Art Advisor, Edith draws on her knowledge of and passionate appreciation for art as well as her connections with the artists she represents.  She brings professional expertise and personal warmth to every client relationship as she assists them in discovering artwork that speaks to them. She is located in Washington, DC, and represents artists across the country.

Edith holds a BA Degree in Art History and has pursued a 30-year career in marketing at numerous design firms and corporations.  In 2013, she and Elisabeth Hayes developed Studio E Partners, a business that exposed art enthusiasts to art through pop-up exhibitions and studio visits. Edith continues to represent many of these artists today.
